Sutable Ari filters

I was wondering if the use of a K&N direct replacement air filter would be ok to use in my 06 Jetta TDI or if I should stay  wih a stock paper filter.

K&N or oiled air filters

The feeling is that any oiled filter K&N or the like kills the MAF on VW's so stick with paper.
