Diesel Technology Forum and their 4/9/2009 Webinar

Most diesel and biodiesel folks would enjoy the April 9th, 2009 Webinar on diesel fuel. It was worth my time and very informative on all counts -- and includes information on biodiesel production in the U.S. You'll need Windows Media Player or compatible software (about a 60MB download). Some positive and some negative points are mentioned for diesel/biodiesel advocates. (ie. Demand rising for distillates (price higher) and lower demand for gasoline (price lower?))

A new generation of clean ultra-low sulfur diesel (ULSD) fuel introduced in 2006 now fuels the majority of all highway vehicles and will soon be used in all off-road equipment as well. It has enabled a new generation of fuel efficient, low-CO2 clean diesel car and SUV choices for U.S. consumers. Government policies on fuel efficiency and renewable fuels point to a decline in gasoline demand. Meanwhile, growing global demand for diesel fuel has led to price increases and decisions by many fuel producers to expand their diesel refining capacity. Join the Diesel Technology Forum for a 90 minute webinar to learn how global fuel demand, the growth of renewable fuels and tax policies affect diesel fuel prices and their implications for U.S. consumers and the economy. Representatives from the U.S. DOE Energy Information Administration (EIA), the National Biodiesel Board and leading industry experts will discuss these topics and respond to questions.
