Not Biodiesel, but and interesting Ohio renewable fuels story
Local Cincinnati Post article might interest some ...
Ohio remains without any operating ethanol plants despite several well-publicized attempts to build them.
That could change within the next year, officials said. Up to five plants should begin producing the corn-based fuel next year, said Jamie Gentry, agribusiness liaison with the Ohio Department of Development.
An interesting twist: Ethanol for diesels
The preferred renewable fuel for our VW TDIs might be biodiesel, but an Austrailian company is suggesting ethanol for diesels. (sort of)
Australia's Terra Fuel Technologies has come up with a device that, when added to a diesel car, bus or truck, lets the vehicle also run partly on ethanol. You need to add a second gas tank on the vehicle to hold ethanol, but in the end, it's an ethanol-diesel car. The device, a black box, controls the flow of ethanol into the engine.
Ohio BD and E85 tax credits flow to consumers
Ohio is offering tax incentives on soybean-based B20 biodiesel as well as E85 ethanol, each retailer can lower their price per gallon by at least ten cents, making the two renewable resource fuels that much more affordable to consumers.
