Scientific American reports that Bill Gates thinks algae is the best source of fuel in the future. Gates recently teamed up with the Rockefeller family and the Wellcome Trust to put $100 million in Sapphire Energy for algae biofuel production. Sapphire plans to produce over 10,000 barrels of green crude oil during a period of at least three years.
